Scott Myers

Mr. Myers “Disabled Veteran’ is a resolute and seasoned professional with a diverse background that spans military service, corporate management, and community leadership. His multifaceted career journey has been driven by a commitment to excellence, team leadership, and a profound sense of duty.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for over a decade, where he held several critical roles. As an Infantry Weapons Technician responsible for maintaining and managing advanced weaponry systems, always ensuring operational readiness, and was considered by commanders as one of the most knowledgeable and skilled in the Marine Corps. Skill’s as a strategist and leader were honed during his tenure as a Drill Instructor. In a highly competitive environment, he was meritoriously promoted his first year on station with the Marine Corps waiving the 2-year standard. Training and mentoring young Marines, instilling discipline, and the core values of the Marine Corps.

During his military service, he was the Captain of the Marine Corps Schools football team and achieved significant athletic successes, including becoming the Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion and the National and North American Bench Press Champion. These experiences taught him the importance of resilience, teamwork, and pushing beyond perceived limits.

He was part of the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force, partaking in critical operations during Thailand’s military Coup, withdrawal from the Philippines during civil unrest and the reinstatement of the Marcos family from asylum in Hawaii and other vital duties in Hong Kong. He also served aboard the USS St. Louis (LKA-116), where he contributed to the mission’s strategic and operational success. These operations honed his skillset to operate stateside in a high-risk post-Gulf War & Pre 9/11 environment in Detroit.

As an Inspector Instructor Staff member in Detroit, Michigan, he oversaw physical security, weapons, and counter terrorism expertise while also managing substance and alcohol control programs. His role as the ordnance Chief for a Marine Corps Infantry Battalion further underscored his capacity to lead and manage in high-stakes environments.

After concluding his military career, he pursued further education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. His time at UNC was transformative, equipping him with advanced knowledge in business administration and strategic management, which have been pivotal in his subsequent professional endeavors.

Transitioning to the corporate sector, recruited by Home Depot and then Lowe’s, he progressed through various leadership roles including Manager, District Manager, and Director. Under his leadership, his stores consistently achieved one of the highest ratings in customer service, employee engagement and maintained the lowest shrink rates in the company. His focus was on building strong, performance-oriented teams that excelled in delivering exceptional service and operational efficiency. Mr. Myers continues to give back and stay relevant in the military sector as a Contractor and Consultant for Global Military Solutions.

On a personal note, Mr. Myers has been married over 35 years and is a proud father of three; Dr. Scott D Myers Jr Maj USAF, Cody L Myers RN, and Sieara M Myers-Meade Community Mentor & Coach. Grandfather of three grandchildren. His family is his stronghold, and they have been an unwavering support system throughout his career and life’s journey.
