Mr. Hoffman “Disabled Veteran” is a staunch military and veteran’s advocate. Highly influential in leading, training, and developing high-performance teams. Through his work, and via Community Service – he has a lifetime of compassionate and professional care to our Nation’s service members, veterans, and its wounded warriors. He is the epitome of a consummate professional with a very diverse background that centers around leadership, service and compassionate care.
During his military service, he was the Drill Master of the DI School where he was meritoriously promoted to GySgt. At that same time, he was the Course Curriculum Developer where he worked closely with General Krulak’s Crucible, and “CORE VALUES” implementation team. He contributed significantly to the rewrite for the entire male recruit training – program of instruction (POI).
He served in the United States Marine Corps for over 25 years where he retired honorably as a Sergeant Major including three consecutive combat tours in Iraq.
After retirement, he was Nationally Accredited by the Disabled American Veterans to appear on behalf of veterans before all agencies of the Department of Veterans Affairs. He initially served the entire Southern California Area all-services Transition Assistance Program before establishing the first ever Transition Service Officer (TSO) Office on Camp Pendleton. During this time, he also served as the Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 95 local tri-cites area. He helped to secure the old Oceanside Police Department Building in a thirty-year lease for one (1) dollar to become the new VANC center in 2007.
Ron was then recruited by name for his leadership acumen to be the Production Manager for a multi-million-dollar High-Speed Manufacturing Company; Biner Ellison, an Accutek Company in Vista, CA. While this was a highly technical environment, Ron’s ability to lead a very diverse group of individuals was much akin to changing posts as an active duty SgtMaj. There he had an immediate and profound impact that still lasts within this company as well as the strong relationships he holds to this day with the owners and employees.
He then had the calling of a lifetime to serve as a Mentor and Career Coach at Wounded Warrior Battalion West (Balboa), REACH Program. There, he assisted our nation’s wounded, ill, and injured during their transition from active duty. This was a niche program within the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), and unfortunately it came to an end after about 6.5 years. However, Ron still maintains close relationships with these warriors.
Post Military Service, he has held a wide range of varied positions that range from the Director of Golf Instruction at Balboa Golf Park, the Military Program Ambassador for NFL Hall of Famer, LaDainian Tomlinson at the Tomlinson Leadership Center, and most recently he was a JROTC Instructor in San Diego.
Ron is currently volunteering his time at the Veterans Association of North County (VANC). The VANC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by Veterans for Veterans and active-duty service people and their families to help them navigate life during and after service.
Ron also volunteers on the Board of Directors at the West Coast Drill Instructors Association, where he is a Life Member and a Past President.
